random story: comfort in the constellations

when i was a kid me an my brother used to do the paper route on our street
it was pretty hard in the winter, it was cold, there was snow, the papers were heavy and i was like 10. i remember it was kind of scary not knowing what could be lurking out there in the freezing cold darkness. i didnt want to think about that and we didnt even go far, it was 3 blocks. hahah. but to distract myself from my own menacing thoughts i remember what i used to do was look up and try to recognize constellations. because we used to watch the star hustler guy on pbs all the time

always had mad love for Polaris, the north star. being able to recognize her makes me feel like i'll always be able to find my way
